This is the first time I've seen her write an article on this subject. What did she say in the other?

This entire "district 9 belongs to blacks" episode is ridiculous and offensive and shows why Memphis continues to fall behind in so many areas and loses talent to other cities.

Now maybe someone can write a diary about this over a dKos - have something centered on the Choen controvery and not have the HFJr supporters up in arms about it.

I don't understand why the Commercial Appeal and other papers continually put Newton Jake's name out there in its papers. Mayor Herenton said it best. Jake is not qualified to be a Congressman. Period. Say what you want about family traditions, but it comes down to experience and qualifications. I don't see the Chicago Bulls signing Jeffrey Jordan to play shooting guard, so why should Memphians elect Jake simply because his daddy and brother served.

The only reason I can see Jake getting all this attention is because the media and certain people within the media want to continue fanning the racial flames in this city. In any political race, there are always people on the ballot who are unqualified and have no chance of winning. However, most of these people never get a 1/25th of the coverage that Jake has gotten. If you only read the papers, you would probably believe that Jake is a legitimate candidate because the paper has not focused on his background (or lack thereof).
