World Overcomers' Statute of Theocracy

The World Overcomers Church erects a $260,000 State of Theocracy!

Church Constructs monument to Christianity in likeness of Lady Liberty

They replaced the torch of freedom with the Cross of Christ and "give me your tired, your poor.." with the Ten Commandments! Screw the tired and the poor!
This is the same church that spends thousands of dollars on full page ads attacking the civil rights of gay people!
"What Would Jesus Do?" Spend $300,000 mocking the State of Liberty and secular constitutional government, or feed a few hundred people?

Holy crap on me.
This is out of control...
What does it say to me? it says, if you're not Christian (especially OUR KIND) you're not American!
How appropo that she is wearing something that looks like a burka.
keeps away vampires
And the terrorists.
It must! Have you seen any around?
You beat me to that, Jim. I saw that yesterday as I was driving my car to the Saturn dealership with it stuck in 3rd gear. I was going to stop by there today to take a pic for posting. Thanks for saving me the trouble.
Now, if you want to talk about desecration of a national symbol of freedom, you can't really beat this. This one-ups flag burning, so I have to really salute these Jesus-freak hippies, they're telling everyone to shove a 20 foot cross up their freedom holes, while wearing sack cloth. Honest to God, I don't know if this isn't some kind of protest art. Lady Liberty certainly seems ashamed to be holding a cross, almost like it's been forced into her hand.
This has to go up on the flyblog, so I'm nabbing your pic, Jim.
Jimbo, I stole it too..

So it scares vampires, terrorists,and--based on my little girl's reaction, small children.
A post wells up from my bowels.
Actually guys, I didn't take that picture, its from the Commercial Appeal...
I guess I should have linked to it.. but I sent an email out that you probbaly got with the link to the CA article in Thursdays paper.
Hey guys, I'm stealing it too. Just when you think things can't get any weirder. Glad to hear the church makes wise decisions about how to spend it's money. Things must be swell in Memphis.
Absolutely ridiculous! They ought to be ashamed of themselves. What a waste of money.
Too many churches these days are getting to be like small governments, spending insane amounts of money on lavish things for themselves.
No wonder an increasing amount of people are turned off by organized religion.
I believe the statue of liberation was a wonderful idea and a very creative way to get the attention of unbelievers and to attract lost souls to Christ. Everyone seems to view the Statue of Libertion as negative, when it is nothing but positive. Dispite of what others may think, lives will be saved and people will be restored back to Christ after inspecting their hearts and giving their lives back to Jesus through The Statue of Liberation. There is no worshipping the statue, therefore, I don't see the problem with it. I expect negative reactions from those who do not have an intimate relationship with Christ because they lack knowledge. People WILL perish for their lack of knowledge, afterall, it is there for them to get. Just pick up the Book of Life, none other than The Holy Bible and read for yourself. Get wisdom and knowledge, but most of all get understanding. God Bless You, and I pray that you everyone finds Liberty through Christ Jesus!
